Adding a garden office to your home is one of the smartest things you can do because in almost all cases the added value will be substantially more than the cost of your garden room.

We generally recommend timber frame garden rooms if you want to keep the lid on costs and want a bespoke garden office. 
 

Over the past decade we have seen a huge growth in ready built garden offices, more so since covid kicked in as millions of people are now working from home.

When it comes to building a garden office it is plain to see by checking out the photos on Google that many of them look the same and are in effect mostly boxes that get lowered in my crane with a price tag starting around £20k for a 3mt x 2mt box.

At PINK LINES we can do much better by going bespoke and and creating garden office plans that a decent carpenter can build in a few weeks. Most timber framed garden offices do not require foundations and can be installed on concrete pads that can be raised up and down as necessary. When it comes to the walls we push for the SIPS route which are in fact wall sections created on or off site and assembled on site very quickly.

Roof should be flat, tons of insulation and covered with EPDM rubber.

I built a studio for myself in this way, and it is warmer than my Victorian home which it is attached to. I work all year from the studio which cost less than £10k to build. The total open plan area is about 30m2 with a storeroom and shower room added.
